Producer Jerry Bruckheimer to Take Porn Prime Time: NY Times

Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer will launch a prime-time television show loosely framed around the adult industry this fall, the New York Times reported Sunday.

Bruckheimer is producing "Skin," which is billed as "the first prime-time network series to take on the adult entertainment industry."

"Skin" tells of the forbidden romance between a 17-year-old Mexican-Irish Romeo, whose father is the Los Angeles D.A., and a 16-year-old Jewish Juliet, whose father is a porn king, according to the Times' Frank Rich's report.

Rich suggested that Bruckheimer considered porn practically "overdue" for a network, prime-time rollout. The Times quoted AVN publisher Paul Fishbein and industry attorney Paul Cambria about current trends in jury decisions and adult content.

"Jurors realize that adult entertainment is no big deal and don't have a problem saying it's no big deal," Cambria told the newspaper.

Fishbein said the newest trend in hardcore porn is the "eschewing of plot."
