It seems that for the 2007 Adult Entertainment Expo, you’re not really anybody unless you’re rolling into the convention in a tour bus.
Three adult companies — Rockman Entertainment, Vouyer Media and Zero Tolerance — are making a big splash this year by driving advertisement-laden tour buses onto the convention floor and using the mobile billboards as the foundation of their booths.
“It’s a reflection of what’s going on in the industry,” said Rockman Entertainment owner Brett Rockman. “Ordinary companies with ordinary booths aren’t going to cut it.”
For Rockman, the tour bus is the foundation of Rock Tour, a forthcoming hardcore reality title he will begin filming when he and his girls take to the road on a mission to reach the fans via in-store appearances and to promote the new Fan Bang DVD Club. Fans who join the club will be invited to perform in a Rockman Entertainment gangbang, the first of which will star Hailey Young.
Vouyer Media parked its tour bus on the main convention floor, but also opted to take a private business suite away from the throngs of fans.
“I started designing a booth, but at the end of the day I didn’t want to do it,” said Vince Vouyer, co-owner of Vouyer Media. “Being a new company, we’re trying to keep the costs down.”
And with a full-size bus wrapped with billboard sized images of Vouyer Media box covers — box covers which invariably have some of the hottest, newest and youngest girls in the business — Vouyer has received plenty of welcome responses.
“People are blown away by it being there,” said Vouyer. “I’ve been getting a lot of big compliments. I think the element of surprise got them.”
Vouyer Media’s bus is covered with a number of the company’s latest female discoveries — Isabella Dior, Gia Corday, Red Fox, Jaylynn, Hayley Jade and Natasha Nice — as well as Vouyer’s new contract director Jack Napier.
“One of the main reasons of using the bus was to promote Jack,” Vouyer added. “I wanted to have a presence there in a non-conventional way.”
Zero Tolerance also opted to out of the traditional booth, took a private business suite and rolled into the convention with full-on rock star flair.
“Because we’re not doing the typical booth, we wanted something in the fan area,” said Joey Wilson, owner of 3rd Degree Films which is under the Zero Tolerance umbrella. “It’s our presence on the floor.”
But for Zero Tolerance, the tour doesn’t end when the convention ends. The company will be taking Courtney Cummz, Alektra Blue, Roxxy Reynolds and Jenna Haze on a signing tour up and down the west coast. But a bus covered in scantily-clad babes can be trouble.
“It gets quite a few stares on the road,” said Wilson. “We almost caused a couple of accidents.”
