Those who own iPod Photo can have a free nip for the holiday courtesy of Playboy Cyber Club: an iBod download delivering a free, 25-piece soft porn imagery gallery that viewable on the Apple iPod photo device. A full formal launch of the portable image download service is expected in January.
"We aimed at the iPod first because its owners know how to download images," said Playboy.com senior entertainment editor Rob Walton, announcing the gallery, adding it's meant partially to show Playboy.com visitors how to download Playboy materials to portable devices.
The company is said to have been signing deals actively to make Playboy content available to portable devices, including a deal with Dwango Wireless earlier in December for developing and delivering Playboy-theme games, images, video and voice clips, and cell phone ringtones.
Playboy is rather high on the iPod photo device, however, calling it 2004's must-have geek gadget in promotions for the special holiday photo gallery. "Now," the company said in its promotion, "you can view individual images or entire slide shows in the palm of your hand, at the tap of a button, to beautify your dull commute or just to pass the time in the lecture hall."
