Playboy.com, a unit of Playboy Enterprises, has signed a deal to provide programming to a men’s lifestyle and entertainment Web site, blinkx.tv.
The agreement allows Web users to use blinkx.tv to search Playboy TV Jukebox, which contains a collection of popular Playboy TV shows.
“We’re excited to partner with Blinkx because they offer a great video search service that will help our audience more easily find their favorite shows online,” Said Michael Sprouse, senior vice president of marketing for Playboy Entertainment Group in a statement today.
Those accessing blinkx will be able to find clips from such Playboy TV shows as “Naughty Amateur Home Videos,” “Totally Busted,” “7 Lives Xposed,” “Adult Stars Close Up,” “Sexy Girls Next Door,” and “Sexcetera,” among others.
“Blinkx is happy to be partnering with Playboy.com because our users will be able to find an even wider range of content from news to sports to adult entertainment,” said Suranga Chandratillake, blinkx founder and chief technology officer.
The company said the blinkx Web site has the only search technology optimized for such media that has the ability to understand any type of video or similar content on the Web. The blinkx video search engine uses advanced voice recognition and speech-to-text technology to automatically index and transcribe video and audio on the Web, allowing users to search right down to individual spoken words.
Blinkx is online at www.blinkx.tv.
