Playboy Enters Movie Production Deal with Mainline

Playboy Entertainment Group, Inc. and Mainline Releasing, a subsidiary of MRG Entertainment, Inc., today agreed to co-produce 10 films in 2005.

Under the terms of the agreement, Playboy retains all international distribution rights for TV, home video, mobile and Internet while Mainline reserves North American TV rights.

MRG Entertainment specializes in the production, distribution, sales and financing of feature films and television programming.

Ned Nalle, president of programming for Playboy Entertainment Group, made the announcement.

"In response to the marketplace, we are immediately serving up fresh new titles for V.O.D., international television and worldwide home entertainment. These pictures will play on Playboy's platforms and will also be made available to certain licensees around the globe. We intend to remain the leader in our category for made-for-TV movies," Nalle said.

Marc Greenberg of MRG Entertainment added, "I am delighted to have two of the largest producers and distributors of entertainment for adults jointly working together. With our combined experience, we will most certainly create movies with global appeal."

The films will be jointly produced over the next 12 months. Playboy will provide overall creative input during the development process ensuring the quality that is synonymous with the Playboy brand. Playboy also plans to develop recurring characters and storylines that will run through several of the films.

The films will add to Playboy's extensive programming library, which will increase this year by over 750 hours including high definition programming produced at Playboy's state-of-the-art, digital facility in Los Angeles. Playboy's flagship original programming including Sexy Girls Next Door, 7 Lives Xposed, The Extreme Truth, Sexcetera, Totally Busted, and World of Playboy are all now produced in high definition TV.

The movies will also be added to Mainline's 300 hours of soft adult programming.
