The Adult Freedom Foundation has announced that Paul Cambria, AFF general counsel, has been invited to attend the Feb. 13 launch of the Family Online Safety Institute in Washington, D.C.
Formerly known as the Internet Content Ratings Association (ICRA), the new organization will expand upon the ICRA's mission "to identify and promote best practices, tools and methods of online safety while respecting the free expression rights of content providers."
"I'm honored to represent the Adult Entertainment Industry at this ground-breaking event," Cambria said. "Protecting Children and Free Speech in a Post Convergence World' is the theme of the launch."
Sponsored by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the invitation-only launch will bring together participants from the online industry, government, the NGO sector and academics.
"We are combining the ICRA family of products and services into a broader and deeper mission incorporating technology, events, public policy and education into this new institute," the invitation stated.
Cambria is invited to "participate in one of two concurrent roundtables in the afternoon as we delve deeper into the issues of public policy, technology and public education."
Last year, Cambria represented the Adult Entertainment Industry at the premier ICRA roundtable. He attended with representatives of Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, AOL, AT&T and Verizon to explore how to "best protect ourselves and our children from the worst of the internet."
Cambria received the latest invitation after being the first and only representative of the Adult Entertainment Industry to testify before a U.S. Senate committee hearing on "Protecting Children on the Internet."
