Elegant Angel will spend the summer releasing backlog titles and compilations, eight a month, as prelude to an onslaught of new movies in the fall, according to owner Patrick Collins.
Collins said the company has been “playing catch-up” since moving to a new location in Chatsworth, which slowed down production.
“I thought it would be better if we bit the bullet, started financing a bunch of productions and then release them in September.” It will also give them time to make trailers for distributors, as they did for the recent Squirtwoman.
Collins will be spending much of the summer in Europe, setting up Elegant’s first distribution network there. When he returns in September he’ll kick off the new season with his own Tales from the Toilet.
Director Thomas Zupko will be on the schedule not only with Big Wet Asses 4 and Big Black Wet Asses, but a companion line, Big Wet Tits. (“We just copyrighted that name,” Collins said).
A new series from William H. called Semen Demons (“hellbent for jizz”) will feature girls with a sexy demonic look. And Cytherea will return in the title role of Squirtwoman 2: The Drinks Are on Me, directed by Collins.
Elegant will also have new product from abroad, from Andrea D’Angelo, a director in Germany who has worked for Private. Collins has him shooting a vampire-themed gonzo movie, still untitled.
Later this fall, Collins plans to have actress Roxanne Hall direct her first movie. “We haven’t come up with a title,” he said, “but basically it’s going to focus on real female orgasms.”
Tales from the Toilet is a project close to Collins’ heart. He said he was more involved with it, from concept through post-production, than he’s been with anything in a long time.
“I felt very passionate about the whole thing,” he said. It was also the first time he has used a monitor while directing, which allowed him increased control.
Slated to go into production at the time of the recent HIV outbreak, Collins first planned to shoot it softcore: “very stylized, with latex gloves and coming on the clothing, almost surrealistic.” But with the lifting of the production moratorium, and performers returning to hardcore, he changed back at the last minute.
The action takes place on a stylized men’s room set with a toilet surrounded by three glory holes—a gay-porn staple that Collins brings into the heterosexual arena.
Four sequences each contain multiple couplings and a variety of sex acts. In perhaps the most unusual sequence, Cytherea and Venus have sex, followed by action with the men behind the glory holes, followed by anal sex with Kurt Lockwood.

Kody Coxxx plays a blue-wigged cheerleader with “dirty old men” Herschel Savage (using a condom) and Dave Cummings (using a walker). A dominant Katie Gold is pitted against Rod Fontana and Jake Malone.
Newcomers Nikki Hunter and Gia Jordan, and French-born veteran Liza Harper (“the first original gaper,” Collins calls her) join Randy Spears and three glory-hole guys for an anal-sex orgy.
Elegant Angel, like several other companies, has mandated HIV testing for talent every two weeks. To help with the increased cost, Collins plans to add an additional $25 to each
performer’s fee.
“Whatever their scene rate is, I’ll pay ‘em an extra 25 bucks,” he said. “If they do 10 scenes in a month, they’re making money on the deal. I think everybody ought to do this. If they all just add 25 dollars to their fee, they can test every two weeks without any problem.”
After launching his new releases, Collins will return to Europe in October to throw a “coming out party” for Elegant Angel Europe at the Venus Fair in Berlin.
