Oriental Dream Pictures will begin its sponsorship of a D1 Drift Car at the first race of the D1 Professional Grand Prix Series this Sunday at Irwindale Speedway.
The Drift series features high-powered, rear-wheel drive cars such as the Madza RX-7, Dodge Viper and Nissan 240 SX and 350 Z, among other makes and models, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph. Some D1 Drift races attract between 10,000-15,000 people for a one-day event.
The red and black Oriental Dream Pictures logo has been painted onto the hood of Ross Petty’s D1 Drift Mazda RX-7, which is owned by Rotary Power USA. The ODP Web address has also been added to the left and right front fenders of the car, which will race in eight events this season.

Adult film stars Nautica Thorn and Sabrine Maui will be in the ODP pits signing autographs and taking pictures with fans on behalf of the company.
“We thought it was a good chance to market out to a different clientele other than the normal adult consumer,” ODP General Manager Bryce T. told AVN.com. “The owner of ODP is personal friends with the people at the Rotary Power USA garage and he felt that it was a good opportunity for the company to get recognition, and we’re also helping out some friends. It’s something that’s a little bit different and it really gives us a chance to broaden our horizons.”
Opening Ceremonies start at 10 a.m., and the 32-car race begins at 10:30.
Round One on Sunday features the USA vs. Japan, as the top drivers from the Japanese drift scene all will be competing in Irwindale. ODP’s driver, Petty, was born in Hawaii and raised in Okinawa, Japan, and speaks fluent Japanese.
“We’re season-long sponsors,” Bryce T. said. “We will be on the hood, rain or shine, snow or wind...”
