American job hunters who hit the Internet looking for work might have had a slightly easier time in March, with an increase in online employment ads during this month, according to Monster.com.
The popular job-hunting site said its index hit 130 in March, above 122 in February, the highest in the one and a half years it has kept such an index, which is encouraging for those looking for evidence that there is indeed steady and sustained employment growth in the U.S.
“Fifteen of the 20 industries tracked by the Monster Employment Index rose in March,” Monster said in its March 31 report, “suggesting increased hiring activity across a diverse range of companies.”
Various employment analysts are reportedly seeing net employment gains of 220,000 jobs for March, about 42,000 fewer than the February gains.
