On the Set: Hustler's Barely Legal 75

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - It's no easy feat turning 75 in an industry that often measures its time in horse years. Hustler Video's seminal series, Barely Legal, has certainly seen its fair share of ups and downs, but now, as the platinum anniversary installment is shot, the series seems stronger than ever at the hands of one of its founders, Erica McLean.

McLean started Barely Legal with her late husband Clive, pioneering the young-girl niche and providing Hustler Video with its top-selling series. Every installment told the story of a supple teen's first time, a tradition that McLean still seems to relish.

Today, six beautiful young starlets have gathered at McLean's sprawling ranch just outside of Los Angeles to shoot an all-girl orgy. Alexia Love, Jenny Hendrix, Alexandra, Jaymie Langford, Faye Runaway and Evelyn Lin run here and there, in different stages of undress, while McLean and the rest of the crew wait for what they're calling the "magic hour."

"We don't have too much longer, we just have to get the sun at the perfect spot…it'll look beautiful," says McLean. Her enthusiasm is infectious.

As the sun sets over the mountains, the cameras roll and the four starlets gather poolside to exchange some first time stories of their own, and eventually, jump into a six-girl orgy; young limbs going every which way.

"I'm so happy with how the scene came out," McLean said when it was all done. "The girls, the lighting, the camera work...it all worked like a beautifully choreographed dance…au natural, of course," she laughed. "Each scene linked to it, is so uniquely different, just like each of the girls. In its entirety, Barely Legal 75 is definitely very exciting and visually stimulating.

"I loved being able to film at our home and create a tantalizing poolside all-girl orgy. I, as well as some of my crew, just know Clive's spirit was ever present. How wonderful to be able to continue a series, and have a loyal fan base that started almost a decade ago. What Clive started in 1998 is world-renowned. I keep the same quality and standard as when we started it. He taught me to be passionate and create with my heart and soul, and you will never lose."

One of the most telling stories during the shoot was McLean joking about a time, "years ago," when she was shooting some behind the scenes footage for a much earlier installment of the series. "And the guy running camera asked me, 'Which Barely Legal is this?' And I said, it's Barely Legal 75, you know, as a joke. After we were done shooting that, I just sat there and thought, wow, what if we go all the way up to 75? That would be amazing."

As for the future, McLean is confident that the series will remain strong. "There are so many more first times out there to be told," she said. "We could just keep telling them and telling them."
