Since its launch last year, Czech video company Blue Lights View has produced five XXX-vids that combine the gonzo technique so popular with straight audiences and the fantasy that the gay audience expects.
"Sales figures have proven the formula has been successful," series director Demien told AVN.com. Having hit its stride, he said, with its first five titles, Blue Lights View was primed to push the formula "a step further, right to the edge" with its next two movies.
"What you don't see in other gay releases, you will see here" Demien promises of GonzoGay: The Movie and Real Guys Doin' Unreal Stuff. "There's no reason gay can't be, well… different."
"GonzoGay," he explained, "features the actors filming themselves—and their partners— having sex. Not a new concept, but seldom seen where all the actors participate."
"Real Guys Doin' Unreal Stuff takes it a step further," Demien continued. "Instead of the guys' different stories as in the first movies, Unreal focuses on events or challenges, like Fear Factor. For example, regular guys are handed a challenge. If they fulfill it, they have the chance to have sex (and maybe romance?) with their dream guy. Sometimes it goes a little farther," Demien elaborated, describing a scene in which new star Pavol ends up having sex with seven guys rather than one.
In addition to the enhanced movie format, Blue Lights View's boxes have also undergone a design change. "If you want to see all the action, you're going to have to look at the show," Demien said, referring to the new, uncluttered look—the exact opposite of BLV's early designs in which "the show" was on the outside as well as the inside. "The cover may look more conventional now," Demien laughed, "but the content will remain weird as hell!"
