New iBill owner Care Concepts has bought Adult lifestyle auction site 4playauction.com, for 25,000 shares of Care Concepts common stock.
"The acquisition of 4playauction.com from CPM, Inc., which includes the Web site, URL, and proprietary software, is a logical and synergistic addition to our existing mainstream auction operations and our investments in adult brands including our 40 percent equity interest in Penthouse Media Group," said Care Concepts chief operating officer Steve Markley, announcing the buy. "By leveraging our existing assets and operational expertise we hope to build a strong and loyal community within the $50 billion adult marketplace."
At this writing, 4playauction.com features numerous Adult-oriented auctions, with fetish videos and DVDs topping the offerings by far (82 for fetish VHS and 61 for fetish DVD), and items like other videos and DVDs, Adult toys, Adult clothing, herbal supplements, novelties and gifts, aroma therapy, and more showing offerings.
"4playauction.com offers a low-cost distribution alternative to traditional Adult e-commerce platforms," Care Concepts said of the site. "By providing a secure environment for both wholesale and P2P trading, 4playauction.com offers an alternative marketplace to mainstream trading sites such as eBay who actively discourage Adult orientated product transactions."
Care Concepts said they expect to make revenues through 4playauction by way of per-transaction commissions and sales of ad space, complemented with ad agreements from travel providers, video providers, and other Adult or Adult-friendly businesses.
