New Gay Site BuzzWest Captures Spontaneity of Male Sexuality

A new gay-themed website focusing on guys of various sexual persuasions is set to make waves in the gay adult Internet community.

Launched less than a week ago, BuzzWest mixes the unorthodox creativity of the fashion industry with the erotic thrill of “hot-as-the-sun-in-July” boy-next-door content. Eschewing the trend toward straight-guy niche sites, it focuses not so much on their models’ sexuality, but on their sexual actions instead.

“We don’t care if the models are straight or bi or gay as long as they’re hot,” founder Buzz West tells AVNOnline.com.

A seven-year veteran of the adult industry, West began working with legendary gay pornographer Dirk Yates (aka All Worlds Video founder Rick Ford) in 1999, eventually becoming the host of DirkYatesLive. When Ford recently announced his retirement and sold All Worlds to Los Angeles-based Channel 1 Releasing, West decided to continue on with his own venture. “I have enjoyed working with Dirk for so many years, and he’s taught me a lot,” West says. “And, I had his blessing to go off and start this, so I want to continue with the fun.”

BuzzWest features slick 21st century-style design, an easy-to-navigate layout, and an array of media tools. Content can be viewed via Windows Media Player or as a DRM-protected download or stream, while options for viewing via PSPs and iPods will be made available in the near future.

Thus far, content is a combination of exclusive footage of never-before-seen models, as well as licensed content. “We scoured all over looking for stuff that wasn’t posted all over the Internet,” West stresses.

In just six days, the site has released content featuring seven BuzzWest exclusive models. West says that two new exclusives will be added each week—all shot in glorious high-quality video. “The quality of the pictures and the video that’s on the site sets BuzzWest apart,” he notes. “I’ve looked at hundreds and hundreds of websites, and the thing that gets me is the poor quality. People just don’t take the time to do a decent shoot. They do picture captures from videos instead. I wanted to do something a little better.”

Of course, there is also the matter of West’s pansexual approach to his content. “I have worked with lots of gay guys and straight guys,” he notes. “They’re all the same.

“I’m not necessarily looking for a particular sexual angle,” he continues. “I don’t go out looking for straight guys to try and get them to do something they don’t necessarily want to do [just for the money], because I think that’s so overdone now. We want to let it evolve into experimenting. We want them to bring it up themselves if they’re into it—to catch someone in the raw format of just being curious about it. It’s just guys having a good time, pleasuring themselves and sometimes each other.”

It may sound like blasphemy in the age of so many straight-themed “gay” sites, but to West, it’s all just sex. “As long as the models are willing to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop in 30 licks, we don’t care what they are,” he laughs.
