New Distribution Partnerships For Pulse Digital

DVD authoring and digital asset management solutions provider Pulse Digital has deals with three companies to distribute the company’s new DVD SelectNet SE edition.

That product was rolled out last week, updating its asset management program that integrates with automated DVD production and streamlines operations because of speed and easy usability, Pulse Digital said announcing the distribution deals with Data Distributing, Microboards, and New Wave Technologies.

“There is a pent-up demand for automating the DVD authoring process,” chief technology officer Mark Hirsch said at the announcement. “We have seen a tremendous response everywhere, and these distributors help us deliver solutions to a broader market that includes corporations of all sizes, universities, and medical facilities. These distribution companies are run by very smart individuals who recognize the value for their end-users, and we’re proud to be working with them.”

SelectNet works as a stand-alone system as well as in concert with the Rimage automated DVD recorder and printer.

“We selected these distributors because of their strong knowledge of the Rimage product line. It’s just a natural fit,” said Pulse Digital president Lee Golinello of Data Distributing, Microboards, and New Wave Technologies. “Having the Rimage integration means that any user of DVD SelectNet can have fully automated production and delivery of their DVDs, in any reasonable quantity, without any human intervention. That performance directly improves the client’s bottom line.”

Integrating digital assets management with creating DVDs, Pulse Digital said, lets SelectNet offer capabilities not usually associated with DVD production, including attaching non-media files like Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and uncompressed image and video files. The product can also organize the disc’s content automatically with multiple menu pages for simplified disc navigation.

“Because DVD SelectNet is a network-based solution, creating a professional DVD is like printing a Word document,” Hirsch said. “It takes only one minute for the user to select the media and submit the job via a standard Web browser. Then the user goes back to work, and his/her machine is not tied up. The process is so amazingly simple and transparent.”
