Nectar Entertainment has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Forum Entertainment to distribute its catalog throughout Europe, with the exception of the United Kingdom, where Queensway Film Distribution holds the rights to Nectar’s Welcome to the Valley series.
Nectar CEO Sean Logan recently joined Forum CEO Hans Hakkenberg and Jan Struijk, Forum's vice president of sales, at the Venus Fair Show in Berlin as they introduced Nectar and 1st Strike to the European market.
“Forum created an amazing booth to showcase their lines, including ours. For five days straight we pulled 18-hour days meeting with various buyers from each territory,” Logan said.
Forum is a European adult distribution company that distributes companies such as Anarchy, Python and Gwen Media.
Logan was particularly impressed with the expanse of Forum’s distribution reach. “Forum has an amazing network across Europe that allows them to move an impressive amount of product,” Logan said. “We’re thrilled to be working with them and look forward to having a mutually rewarding relationship.”
This was Logan’s third year representing Nectar at the Venus Fair, though his first working with his new European distributor.
“My first year we only had one movie and had no idea of how to handle Europe," he said. "Three years later we have approximately 40 titles and I think I’ve finally grabbed the concept of the foreign market."
Logan continued, “Americans tend to think everyone can read English and that’s simply not the case. Europeans want box covers in their native language, and there’s a lot of languages in Europe, so it's great to have Forum there to oversee the redesign of our boxcovers with the appropriate language for each territory.”
The distribution deal with Forum covers both of Nectar’s labels: Nectar and 1st Strike.
Nectar is the production company’s critically acclaimed eroticore line that features the work of Marty Zion (Mystified, Illuminated), Eric Avalon (Exxxstasy Island) and Damien Rossi (Evil Bitches). 1st Strike is a wall-to-wall and gonzo label that offers a diverse range of genres that includes everything from ethnic titles such as the recently released Darker Side of Sin, to the teen genre, such as the upcoming release New Flavors.
