Nectar Entertainments' Marty Zion Discusses Upcoming Releases

Not satisfied with creating a concept and whacking out ten installments of said concept as a series, Nectar Entertainment’s exclusive director Marty Zion prefers to create one-offs with a visual theme rather than a sexual one.

That is instead of making a movie that features A2Ms or three girls on one guy or some other sexual variation – Zion creates a new visual concept for each of his videos.

“That’s because everything around us is sexual. Sex is everywhere; it’s an intricate part of the fabric of life,” Zion told AVN.com. “I try to show that in my videos, expressing sexuality in visually familiar, yet stylized, settings.”

Zion’s latest offerings, Metropolis and Liquid continue that trend. In Metropolis, elements of urban life are used as a backdrop for the sex scenes, while Liquid uses water themes in each scene.

“There’s something about a city – a sense of vibrancy, of purpose - that is inherently sexual. And the nightlife of a city is entirely sexual. That’s what happens after dark: people dress their best and work it. That’s what we’re showing in Metropolis - the sexuality of the city," Zion said.

Taking advantage of his knowledge of set design and technological know-how, Zion created elaborate sets and used some lighting and camera tricks to give the impression of being in a city.

The end result is Brittany Andrews sharing Cynthia Pendragon with Billy Tyler an abstract exterior of a rooftop with a the cityscape in the background; Pason and newbie Sarah Blake in a girl/girl strap-on scene with film footage of movement in the city running in the background; Dolorian and Evan Stone on a stage with neon signs of various merchandisers on the walls that is something one would expect to find in a Broadway musical rather than an adult video; Nina Dolci pairs up Anthony Hardwood in a moonlit courtyard; and Vicky Vette does a d.p. with Alex Rox and Tristan Seagal on a penthouse rooftop, with the skyscrapers of the city’s skyline providing atmospheric lighting.

Zion is just as excited about his other February release Liquid, which is actually has more smoke and mirror type special effects than his previous releases – for instance Taylor Rain, wearing angel wings, walks on water before Dick Smother’s Jr. begins an anal scene shot to appear as if they are having sex on the water.

How did he do it?

“She’s actually walking on water, that’s how,” Zion quipped before admitting that he utilized tricks he developed for a mainstream commercial project. “That’s where most of what I’m doing is coming from – years of experience on commercial projects and features.”

Each scene in Liquid is set on the same body of water, a sort of “magical Everglades” filled with angels that are decidedly not angelic. Charmane, Bella Starr, Charlie Lane, Sarah Blake, Kelly Kline, and Shy Love are the other "angels" in the video.

“We try to provide viewers with scenes they have never seen before and never will see again. That’s why we take the time to build elaborate sets and create interesting visuals – when they pick up one of our titles, they know they’ll be seeing something unique.”

Metropolis will be released on February 2 and on March 1 Liquid will be released. Nectar Entertainment titles are distributed through Bizarre Video.
