Gay Video-on-Demand (VoD) company NakedSword.com is asking surfers to help them select their second annual NakedSwordsman by ranking a list of 12 candidates.
The candidates have each spent one month of 2004 as a featured player on Naked Sword’s dream team of porn stars. Voters can rank Tag Erikkson, Chris Steele, Dick Wolf, Jack Ryan, Adam Dexter, Barrett Long, Lane Fuller, Diego De La Hoya, Dred Scott, Dean Phoenix, Jason Ridge, and Ben Jakks.
“The election of a NakedSwordsman is much more than and exercise in vanity” said NakedSword.com president Tim Valenti. “This year’s ballot is certainly contentious and the results should be an interesting barometer of trends in the overall gay community, like whether or not to wax one’s buttocks.”
Although Naked Sword staffers will ultimately choose the NakedSwordsman, media director Michael Stabile said that the outcome of fan voting is definitely taken into consideration and serves as an accurate window into the industry.
The winner will be based on a combination of fan judging, the star’s body, performances, videography, popularity and career trajectory.
Marcus Iron won the 2004 NakedSwordsman. Fans cast more than 25,000 ballots last year, Stabile said.
Although, since people were allowed to vote more than once, that may not me an accurate reflection of the number of actual voters. This year, fans will only be able to vote once and will rank the stars, as opposed to the previous method of selecting only their favorite.
Fans hoping to sway the judges further can also submit a 150-word essay describing their favorite nominee to Naked Sword partner site GayPornBlog.com. The best essay will receive a free membership to NakedSword.com.
