Montreal: That's a Wrap

They came to town with high expectations and left with great results.

Adult.com’s Webmaster Access East, which marked the first adult webmaster show in Montreal in two years, netted 340 registrants, their largest turnout to date.

There’s been a flurry of activity since we last checked in, with the GammaCash dinner, the BrainCash/CCBill party at Exit, the final three seminars, the conclusion of MyVirtualCard’s poker tournament, and 2much.net’s farewell party. … among other things.

Driving the success of the show were many of the local companies, which included Gamma, BrainCash, and 2much.

“Things went really well. We had a ton of locals and I think it’s really good for them. A lot of time these people are flying to San Diego, Santa Monica, Vegas, etc. They’re going a long way for a show,” Adult.com marketing director Eric Matis tells AVNOnline.com.

“We had a lot of people come out of the woodwork that we wouldn’t normally see and it’s great to see new faces.”

With the success of this show, Matis says next year’s Webmaster Access East will again be held in Montreal.

“Based on the turnout, the initial response, and my own ideas, we’ll be coming back here. The city is too much fun and the people are great,” Matis says. “Having something in the northeast is just imperative.”

Minor changes are in store though. The Mother’s Day holiday factored into the attendance equation for some people, which will likely prompt the move of the show to a Thursday-to-Friday format instead of the Friday-to-Saturday schedule of this year.

Already looking forward to next year are locals like Eric Senecal, director of sales and marketing for GammaCash, which sponsored of the show’s seminars.

“The bottom line is, having these smaller shows gives you the time to hang out with people,” he says. “We’re proud to be part of it and were going to be doing it again next year.”

“It’s always fun to have everyone here. We have a good base of companies here,” says BrainCash owner Fred Valiquette. “Montreal has it’s own charm, the girls are really nice, and our strip clubs are really good. People like to come to Montreal to party and I think that’s the way it’s always been.”

Soon, people will be thinking about partying in Amsterdam and Santa Monica, California, since that’s where the next two Webmaster Access shows will take place.

The Santa Monica show will be moving to a new hotel this year and will likely also move to a Thursday-to-Friday format, Matis says.

The Amsterdam show runs September 15 to September 18.
