The second day of AOE was “mobile day.”
Yes, Europe is still quite a bit ahead of the game. While North America is waiting for the carriers to figure out when and how they want to deal with the adult marketplace, the Europeans are developing new mobile revenue streams.
Tuesday’s seminars focused on mobile dating, mobile brand building, live video chat, mobile streaming, mobile TV, and mobile billing, among other things.
As the well-travelled Julius Kedvessy of FUBAR Webmasters said, it’s interesting because “Europe is so far ahead of the U.S. with stuff like this.”
Indeed. Being the trendsetters means figuring things out as you go along—and the answers, in some cases, aren’t always so apparent.
In World Telemedia’s (AOE’s sister show) TV and the PRS industry seminar, seminar chair Lee Booth of OBUS said, “None of us really knows where [mobile TV] is going to go. None of us really knows what people will pay.”
As the final day for seminars, Tuesday saw AOE start to wind down a bit. Some of the locals already had come and gone.
You can come in and get everything done by 5 o’ clock on the first day if you like, explains InterClimax’s Ben Jelloun.
But when you can enjoy the European culture and the German beer, why not pace yourself?
