Meriah Nelson: Questions About Underwear (and other stuff)

Since its much-ballyhooed debut across AVN’s media empire, the Tripp Wire has been asking the tough questions of its subjects; a rousing query into the minds of the industry’s best and brightest. But then I said, “Screw it! Let’s talk about panties.”

It’s summertime and the consensus around Tripp Wire headquarters was that nothing says lazy beach days, flip-flops, and intense heat quite like lacey unmentionables. And so we say hello to the lovely Meriah Nelson, a blonde stunner with a killer Website and supercharged sex appeal, ready to wax philosophical about all things panties… and some other stuff.

Tripp Daniels: There are words like "knickers" and "panties" to describe underwear. Do you have a favorite slang or "cute" word?

Meriah Nelson: I always call them "chonies," like the Mexicans. Trying to speak Spanish is fun.

TD: What is rule #1 when shopping for underwear?

MN: Don't buy the ones – Victoria's Secret has tons of these bad ones – that ride up high in the front and the back. Very unflattering. Especially if you wear very low pants, like I do. The best ever are the V-Strings from Victoria's Secret. Low, low, low, with only strings in the back.

TD: What’s your bra size?

MN: A 34C, but sometimes I need a D underwire because my chi chi's are wide as opposed to be large the other way.

TD: What is your favorite style of underwear? Is it a thong, a g-string, perhaps briefs?

MN: Frederick's cotton thongs and The "V-Strings" from Victoria's Secret.

TD: What’s your opinion on stockings and garters?

MN: Very sexy, and they make the legs look extra long when heels are included. Visualize sex with garters, stockings, and no underwear. Mmmm.

TD: How often do you wear or not wear underwear?

MN: I only go commando when I am sleeping or if I have on a long skirt or dress. I don't get how girls don't wear underwear with pants. It seems gross unless they want to wash those pants after every use. I guess they must have a lot of pants or they like to do laundry.

TD: Do you always match bra and panties or sometimes do you just not give a good damn?

MN: No, I am not that high maintenance. Of course there are special occasions.

TD: Do you have a favorite brand of underwear?

MN: Victoria's Secret V-String. Geez, I guess I can't stop talking about them.

TD: When you sleep you wear…?

MN: Nothing in the summertime and warm flannel in the wintertime.

TD: Are you wearing underwear right now? If so, please describe them.

MN: No chonies because I just got out of the shower and I am in a cozy robe.

TD: Okay, on to more personal topics. What’s your biggest weakness?

MN: Lots, I am human. I think the biggest one is that I am too nice and afraid of being rude. I am trying to learn to stand up to people and realize that it doesn't mean I am being a bitch. Sometimes I am so nice for too long and I snap because it all builds up.

TD: Is there a special talent you wish you had?

MN: Singing and dancing.

TD: Three items you cannot live without?

MN: Lip balm, my hair brush - it's the only one that works on my hair and I have had it for two-and-a-half years - and hand/foot cream. Of course, the beauty items. I think my top 30 items would be in this category and then we would move to chocolate.

TD: What inspires you?

MN: Success in myself and others. Accomplishment. The Arts in general.

TD: If you had your own reality show on ABC what would it be called?

MN: Freaks We See, Freaks We Be. I would go around and fuck with all the weirdos in the U.S. I already experimented with this. I took a pad of paper and pen out and wrote down the trippiest shit that would happen, or that people would do or say, and take pictures of them and with them. There are so many great interviews in New Orleans and Las Vegas. Even South Beach had some and of course there is Hollywood. The "freaks" were so interesting and crazy that just being in that atmosphere made me feel insane. It was surreal. Something along these lines.
