Mayhem Signs Blade to Exclusive Deal

Mayhem has announced that it has signed Barrett Blade to an exclusive, one-year-agreement which calls for him to a direct a predetermined number of titles for Mayhem and leaves open the possibility of additional projects for Sin City.

The award-winning performer and rising director is currently in the development stages of two new lines he says will redefine gonzo filmmaking.

“I wanted to show another side to my work that focused on hardcore,” said Blade, the former rock star who also recently directed a mainstream music video. “I think a lot of people are going to be shocked by the intensity of what I put out. I’ve been planning this one for a while and I can't wait to see it happen. Get ready to have the wind knocked out of you, that’s all I can say!”

Sin City Entertainment General Manager, Scott Justice, offered the contract to Blade after viewing footage from his debut title, Smokin' Crack.

“I was really impressed by his first show. We gave Barrett a chance and he did not disappoint me at all. He came through with flying colors," Justice said. "I feel that Barrett’s creativity, camera work, direction and distinct style is exactly what we needed for the Mayhem line right now.”

A natural performer, Blade spent years playing bass for Dial 7 at local L.A. area clubs before signing with Warner Brothers and opening for acts like Foo Fighters, Incubus, Run DMC, System of a Down and No Doubt.

Soon after his transition into adult Blade became one of the most sought-after studs on the circuit. His reliability and acting skills helped him earn a pair of AVN awards in January, one for Best Actor and the other for Best Three-way Sex Scene. He has since added camerawork and editing to his repertoire.

“With a diversified background in editing, performing and directing I felt confident that I was ready to advance to the next level of filmmaking which ideally included a directing contract with a vastly successful company," Blade said.

Blade's Smokin’ Crack will hit the streets on Wednesday, followed by P.O.V. Multiples on Nov. 2.
