Max Hardcore’s annual pilgrimage to the Long Beach Grand Prix went off with nary a hitch - the cops were only called once and didn't arrest anyone.
Not that Hardcore was really in any danger, he's somewhat of a fixture on the Grand Prix scene. For Hardcore, the trip is really a working vacation, but he knows better than to do more than slightly push the limits of tolerable behavior in public.
Every year since 1992, Hardcore has traveled to Long Beach with a production crew and a few female performers to shoot some background footage for productions that will incorporate the race as a storyline. Occasionally Hardcore even discovers new talent.
“Wherever you find fast cars, you’ll find fast women,” Hardcore explains. “We’ve met maybe a dozen of girls there that ended up in our movies. We’ll use our interview with them down at the track as part of the movie. The sex we do later.”
The race itself was held on Sunday, April 18, but Long Beach is taken over by race fans for the entire weekend. According to Hardcore, the race is also known as “the world fastest beach party,” and many of those in attendance were more interested in the atmosphere than they were in the race.
This year Hardcore brought Catalina, Felix Vicious, Barbii Bucxxx, Desire More and a few other women to the event. The scantily clad women accompanied Hardcore around the paddock where the drivers and their crews prepared for the race.
According to Hardcore, the drivers were happy to see him and his entourage. “Big smiles all around. Huge shit-eating grins. They all know me because I go down every year,” Hardcore told AVN.com. “You can hear their eyeballs clicking when you walk through the paddock. They stop working and we go up and say hello take pictures and wish them luck for the day.”
Hardcore also offered the drivers a few of his videos. A few of the drivers even came to Hardcore’s party the night before the race, though he won’t name names.
Hardcore and his “party crew” also passed out promotional schwag such as key chains and stickers to fans.
A few people complained out the porn stars and the Long Beach Police were summoned at one point, and asked Max to tone it down.
“The way I see it, the adults here get a big-bang out of our presence, and they bought the ticket and drove down for the show. This is a Grand Prix, not a Grand Pre-school," Hardcore said.
Hardcore made it through the weekend without any real incident, and was interviewed by a number of television stations and the local newspaper, which of course, had a few questions about the HIV outbreak.
