Adult performer Marco Banderas will make his U.S. directorial debut in Tightfit Pictures’ For Your Eyes Only, set for release in October.
Banderas, who had previously directed two titles in his native Spain, said he was pleased to get the opportunity to direct his first title on American soil, having directed two other features in Europe.
“I always felt that I could contribute as a director and I’m happy that I got that chance.”
Oren Cohen, Tightfit’s owner, said he was approached by Banderas with footage of two scenes he had shot for the project.
“I saw the footage and I was really impressed that had that much faith in his ability that he would shoot these scenes to show me,” he said.
The title was shot in POV style with Banderas handling the camera, while his wife Lisa Lee held the secondary camera for added video support.
The title features Shy Love, Jasmine Byrne, Mika Tan, Naomi and Lee.
Banderas was also recently tapped by Lexington Steele to direct his new line, Marco Banderas Darkside POV, for his Mercenary Pictures label, also set for release in October.
“I just think he’s the best male performer in the business and I know he can direct,” Steele said.
The title, now in production, features Harmony, Lacey Duvalle and others.
"I love the way he shoots in POV style with a secondary camera handling another angle,” Steele added, noting that he employs a similar style for his POV line, Silverback Attack.
Having joined the industry two years ago, Banderas began his adult video career doing live sex shows and video shoots in Spain as a young man with Lee, who was then his girlfriend.
The two starred in a number of hardcore titles as well as worked in live sex shows at sex clubs.
“It was hard at first to do those because you have everybody watching and you have to pop on cue,” he said.
“But working five days a week, three shows a night, you get used to it.”
Eventually, Banderas and Lee moved to the U.S. where he worked steadily and often.
“The more I work the better I get. I can’t stand days when I don’t work. I get antsy and don’t know what to do with myself.”
