Mantra Entertainment Goes After the Ladies with Guys Gone Wild

Mantra Entertainment, the producers of the Girls Gone Wild series, are ready to launch a product line that could end up proving that a softcore market aimed at women exists, as well as offering an indication of how large it is. By correlation, they could bolster the arguments of those who argue that there is a relatively untapped market for hardcore videos geared towards women, not just couples.

Mantra Entertainment's new series Guys Gone Wild could be the first real test of exactly how large that female market is – who the real consumer's of such a product are.

Mantra Entertainment is

banking on turnabout not only

being fair play, but profitable

as well.

"People have been asking about a Guys Gone Wild for seven years," Bill Horn, publicist for Mantra Entertainment, told AVN.com. "The majority of people who have asked about Guys Gone Wild have been girls, but I'm sure there will be some cross over [into the gay market]."

And in keeping with the "porn made by women, for women" concept that some in adult industry insiders believe will be the next big thing, Mantra Entertainment hired an all female camera crew to shoot men at the same parties that the Girls Gone Wild series shoots at. The series will mirror the Girls Gone Wild series, but instead of talking young women into exploring their exhibitionist streak, this time women talk men into exploring their exhibitionist streak.

And apparently guys have been dying to have the opportunity to explore their exhibitionist streak.

"We actually had a discussion at one point about whether to hire women to shoot guys, or take advantage of the hours of footage we already had. Guys have always ran up to cameras and flashed their cock – sometimes actually to the point where they were blocking the women we were trying to shoot," Horn said.

Mantra decided to scrap their existing footage and placed a want ad in the Hollywood Reporter for an all female crew. "We wanted cute girls. You do what you have to do. It's actually unbelievable what a guy will do for a cute girl."

The first Guys Gone Wild, as well as Guys Gone Wild: Spring Break and Guys Gone Wild: Frat Boys willbegin shipping on July 13, but Mantra Entertainment will begin accepting pre-orders for the debut volume of the series on July 7, when they launch GuysGoneWild.com. And, of course, Mantra will also have an 800 number along with a mainstream television campaign to drive sales.

Guys Gone Wild will be available in retail stores nationwide in September.
