A man posing as a director may be booking bogus shoots, according to sources. Veteran performer Alana Evans told AVN.com that she was contacted by her agency Gold Star Modeling to do a b/b/g shoot earlier today. She received a location and the names of her co-stars, as well as the name of the director (whose name has been withheld from the story because AVN.com was not able to contact him).
“The shoot was at a hotel,” Evans said Thursday, “and though I don’t really like hotel shoots, it was mentioned that I’d be working with Scott Lyons and he’s someone I know, so I trusted it. Also, the shoot was supposed to be at the Universal Hilton Hotel, which is a nice place in a safe neighborhood.”
Upon arriving at the location, Evans said she found out the hotel number she was given didn’t exist in that particular hotel. Evans contacted her agency to report this inconsistency, and they were not able to get in touch with the director.
Gold Star Modeling owner Joel Lawrence was not available for comment at press time.
“We decided that I’d wait for another half hour and then leave. Nobody showed up,” Evans said.
Evans told AVN.com that she then contacted Lyons who said that he wasn’t booked on that particular shoot at all. After further conversation, Lyons told Evans that somebody using that same name had tried to book some bogus shoots using Lyon’s name to book shoots.
“I’ve been in this business a long time, and I can’t imagine what kind of situation a newcomer might get themselves into,” said Evans. “It’s scary.”
