In what the company is billing as the first 24/7 hardcore gay TV channel in the world, Sureflix Digital Distribution, owner and operator of gay Video-on-Demand site maleflixxx.tv, and Priape, owner of a Canadian gay retail chain, have launched MaleFlixxx TV.
The station began airing in Toronto earlier this week on the Rogers Cable system.
“Maleflixxx Television will deliver gay male content 24/7. Not just on specific days or in specific time slots. We recognized a large un-served market in Canada. We are going to capture the lion’s share of that market by delivering hardcore gay adult programming not available on any other channel,” said Eric Johnson, president of Sureflix Digital Distribution.
The channel is currently available in the in-demand and subscription format in Toronto, but Johnson said it will soon be available on a subscription basis throughout Canada via cable and satellite.
MaleFlixxx TV presents nearly 100 full-length movies a month from such studios as Falcon, Thor Productions, Fox Studio, Tribal Pulse, Lucas Kazan, and Sharpshooter.
“We wanted to give our consumers choices, not only in content, but also in ways to access hardcore material,” said maleflixxx.tv co-founder Erik Schannen. “Television just seemed like the right fit for the time and represented another opportunity for us to utilize our leadership position for the delivery of gay content.”
The company has further plans to branch into U.S. and European markets once they are established in Canada, according to Schannen.
A monthly subscription to MaleFlixxx Television is $19.95 per month, with discounted bundle rates available, via Rogers Cable.
