The 2007 AVN Awards show drew more mainstream stars than ever before.
Kiss bassist Gene Simmons drew loads of attention as he made his way into the show with a girl on each arm. His appearance at the event was taped for his A&E reality show, "Family Jewels."Although Simmons has been a regular guest of the show for years, last night he took the stage with Jada Fire and Tera Patrick to present a trio of awards, including Best Supporting Actress and, most fittingly, Best Oral Scene. Simmons is infamous for his outsized tongue, and before he left the stage, his co-presenters handed him The Golden Tongue Award — a three-foot plaque with a giant golden tongue hanging down.
While Fire was noticeably giddy with Simmons arm wrapped around her, Simmons leaned towards her and unfurled his massive tongue. Cheers erupted from the crowd as Simmons told Fire, "Open." When she opened her mouth, Simmons stuck his tongue inside and locked into quite the kiss.
"It went down my throat, you guys!" Fire exclaimed to the crowd when Simmons pulled out.
Illusionist Criss Angel also took the stage to present an award. After he made one girl's dress disappear into thin air, Gina Lynn joined Angel to present the Best Actress - Film award. Angel's appearance was also taped for the third season of his "Mindfreak" show on A&E.
Rock guitarist Dave Navarro arrived at the show wearing dark sunglasses and an unbuttoned shirt that showed off his ripped abdomen. He chatted with Mary Carey on the red carpet and later took the stage with Jesse Jane and Carmen Hart to present Best Actor, Film and Best Anal Sex Scene.
Tito Ortiz sat front row in the audience with his girlfriend Jenna Jameson. When the cameras turned his way, Ortiz smiled and humbly pointed to Jenna.
"Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" host Robin Leach arrived with Jesse Jane, who hosted the red carpet entrance before the event. Leach, who is well-known to be a big supporter of the porn industry, was on hand to do a piece on Digital Playground superstar Jane for an upcoming episode of his show.
Former "Saved By The Bell" nerd Dustin "Screech" Diamond arrived to represent Red Light District's release of his celebrity sex tape, Screeched. And up-and-coming comedian Russell Peters arrived as a fan, simply to enjoy the spectacular show.
Wrapping up the night was rock group Buck Cherry, singing their hit "Crazy Bitch."
