Steve Lightspeed, owner of Lightspeed Media, was featured in an article in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday: “‘Steve Lightspeed’ Walks the Line Between Porn Business and Family.”
The story focuses on Lightspeed’s balancing act between his business and family, along with his marketing efforts.
Writer David Kesmodel dwells heavily on how Lightspeed tries to protect his children from the adult entertainment world, almost as if he finds it odd that someone in the industry would care about such things. He also seems to take issue with Lightspeed wanting to remain a private person.
“But few in the porn world know much about Steve Jones, the 39-year-old married father of two behind the Lightspeed persona – and that's the way [Lightspeed] wants to keep it,” Kesmodel writes.
Lightspeed talks about starting his business: “I really had no idea what I was doing. Our goal was to make a little extra money for our kids’ college fund,” he tells the WSJ.
He also talks about protecting his children from viewing adult content online by password-protecting his computers and installing filters on theirs.
“Being in this industry has made us more sensitive to how available on the Internet this material is to kids,” he tells WSJ.
