LFP Inc. parted ways with its new Executive Vice President Noel Bloom on Monday.
Bloom, who has over 30 years of industry experience, ran the video department among other duties during his five weeks at LFP.
“When I worked there, I worked six to seven days a week, 12 to 15 hours a day. I was involved in almost everything, and as far as I know, I was doing everything I was supposed to do, as far as overseeing everything to do with home video,” Bloom said. “I was let go on Monday afternoon, and the only thing I was told was that I wasn’t getting things done fast enough. Considering I couldn’t work any more hours than I was working, I don’t know. There was nothing I was working on that I couldn’t handle or couldn’t resolve.”
LFP founder Larry Flynt said, “I’ve known Noel for a long time. He’s a legend in this industry. I thought he’d be good for the company. The big problem I had was him being able to interact with other people. I don’t have anything critical to say about Noel. Maybe I even made a mistake. It just wasn’t working.”
Bloom responded, saying, “It doesn’t make sense for me to point fingers. There was no problem that I knew of, but there were people there that felt that was not the case. … I wouldn’t feel so bad if I didn’t put my heart and soul into this.”
Bloom’s list of experience includes founding Caballero Home Video and International Video Entertainment (IVE), among other ownership endeavors. He has consulted with several general release companies and recently worked with Leisure Time to launch Maximum Xposure.
He said he had yet to decide what his next move would be.
Flynt, meanwhile, gave no indication about when or if he would replace Bloom.
“We’re still staffing,” he told AVN.com. “We’re still looking, and we’re still bringing people on. We’re adding some significantly new people who will be very much involved in production.”
