Lexie Marie likes snowboarding, motocross and extreme sports, and she describes herself as “mellow” when she’s not performing in adult videos.
“I like to have good times… Dance. I like music, going to [Lake] Havasu, hanging out on boats, barbecues, picnics, friends and family. I’m pretty mellow, chill.”
She is also a starlet who is in demand that has already embarked on the second stage of her adult film career, and she just turned 20 in December.
“I feel like I’m way older,” Marie admits.
The former high-school cheerleader from Sacramento recently performed for Teravision, doing scenes with Tera Patrick, Nikki Benz and Spyder Jonez. She has recently done her first gonzo videos with Zero Tolerance and Third Degree, and has been the subject of a couple photo shoots for Suze Randall. The 5-foot-6 starlet is also busy traveling the country feature dancing, and recently returned from Boston, where she was recognized as a porn star by her waiter at a popular seafood restaurant.
Through it all, she is making sure to leave time for herself.
“I don’t say ‘yes’ to every job. I’m very selective,” Marie told AVN.com in an exclusive interview. “I want to work for good companies. It seems like the other day I was just doing girl/girl. This is a fast-paced lifestyle. It’s hard when you’re young, fresh, and pretty. … It’s not easy.”
She said surviving on her own and finding true friends were among her challenges as she becomes more accustomed to the lifestyle of a young star.
The sexy blonde made an immediate impact when she arrived in the adult industry during the summer of 2004 from Phoenix, where she lived for two years and danced at Le Girls Cabaret. She joined LA Direct Models on her first day in the business and landed on “Spice Clips” later that night. By December of 2004, she was receiving interest in her exclusive services from leading companies such as Vivid Entertainment Group, Wicked Pictures and Hustler Video.
“Vivid was a little quicker with an offer, a good offer,” Marie recalled, adding that she never went looking for a contract. “I didn’t go knocking on anyone’s door. I was really young and new and things just kind of fell in my lap.”
She signed with Vivid for one year, and went on to perform her first boy/girl scenes in about 10 features that included Lexie & Monique Love Rocco, her favorite movie Inside Moves, Skin on Skin, Spiked, Sexual Auditions and the upcoming Invasion of the Porno Shooters.
Vivid opted not to renew her deal in December, and Marie became a sought-after free agent again. She said she did not feel she was ready to perform her first anal scene or for an interracial scene with two guys, both of which were part of the discussion. Marci Hirsch, Vivid's vice president of production who works closely with the Vivid Girls, was not available for comment at press time.
“We kind of just went our own ways. I’m not ready for anal, I’m just 20. I feel like I have a good head on my shoulders. The good thing about this industry is you can be your own boss,” she said. “I just did what I felt was good. If I do this stuff now, what am I going to do when I’m 24 or 25. I still have a lot to offer.”
Rumors swirled about her departure from Vivid, but Marie did her best to avoid the gossip.
“That’s what pissed me off more. People don’t know what they’re talking about. They don’t know me. I couldn’t pick them out in a crowd,” she said. “I’ve never not shown up. I’m never late. I’m a hard worker.”
She added, “I don’t have a drug problem. I never did. … People that know me will tell you.”
Now that she has had time to reflect on being with Vivid, Marie said she has mostly fond memories of her whirlwind year.
“Practicing safe sex was good. The way they promoted me and put me out there was awesome and it was kind of nice working with the same family all the time, but it’s also nice know getting to know other people and nice going to different places to work,” Marie said.
She also learned how to manage her money when she was there, “because I wasn’t getting excessive amounts at once.”
Meanwhile, Marie said she would continue performing and feature dancing, and is planning to headline the Rouge Gentlemen’s Club April 6-8 in Van Nuys.
“I’ll always take it day by day. You’re only young once. You’re only hot once. I don’t want to do this a long time. I don’t really want my own production company,” she said. “I couldn’t tell you what I want [long term]. … I love having sex and being able to perform and making good money and being able to travel and all the stuff that comes with this. I’m going to keep going and I don’t want anything to slow me down.
“I’m making the best of it and I’m having fun and that’s what matters to me.”
