Lava Releasing will unveil the latest feature from director Nicholas Steele, Reunion, on Sept. 20.
The movie follows the story of friends getting together for their 10-year high school reunion. What develops is a history of sex, love and old issues never resolved.
“I don’t know if there was a spy at the set or if someone left a copy of the script at FOX, but this story and the new FOX series of the same name are remarkably the same – the difference is they have a murder and Nick has lots of sex,” said Lava’s Bob East. “If the TV show had stars like Cytherea, Dominia Leoni, and Cheyne Collins it would be a guaranteed hit.”
Steele laughed at the similarity, saying his was written and shot in the spring, long before FOX ever announced its fall schedule.
"Maybe I can have a second career doing programming for a network,” he joked.
