The Los Angeles County Health Department is expected to subpoena records relating to the current HIV scare from the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) this morning, though adult industry lawyers are at hand to verify the subpoenas are enforceable.
“We have a moral and legal obligation to protect our population of patients from any type of intrusion and confusion at this point,” AIM’s executive director Sharon Mitchell told AVN.com.
The subpoena comes the same day that the Los Angeles Times reports that the health department intends to make condoms mandatory and that the Division of Occupational Health and Safety plans to begin inspections of the adult industry this week, the first time they have done so.
