The latest MC to join the rap-porn craze is West Coast rapper Knoc-Turn'al. The Dr. Dre protege gained fame by appearing on Dre's smash Chronic 2001 album and his 2002 Elektra/Asylum EP L.A. Confidential Presents: Knoc-Turn'al. His latest effort is titled The Way I Am and a record release party for the album served as a backdrop for his first foray into porn.
"We went out to Malibu and had some fun," Knoc-Turn'al told AVNOnline.com. "It's me hosting my record release party, performing music as people party and get wild. In my video we set out to do five scenes and we ended up with ten!"
From the company that brought you Ice-T's Pimpin 101, Fatt Entertainment's Knoc-Turn'al's "The Way It Is" Record Release Party was shot onstage and backstage and features the Cali MC hosting a wild and raw flesh fest, with cameos from rapper Shade Sheist and Ice-T producer Dj Evil E; luxury cars; exclusive original songs performed by Knoc-Turn'al (including the "The Way I Am!" remix with Snoop Dogg), and a cast of porn beauties including Aveena, Jordan Haze, Mya Mason, Mercury, Brittney Skye, Kelli, and Allura Eden, and was directed by Mike D and Derek Dozer.
Knoc-Turn'al is the next in a long line of rappers to host porn movies, and his release joins the ranks of similarly-themed releases by Snoop Dogg, Too Short, Lil' Jon & the East Side Boyz, and Ice-T.
"The fact is, more and more people are getting into it," Knoc-Turn'al said. "Snoop had his video, and now Hugh Hefner has a hip hop show on PlayboyTV called Buckwyld. Twenty years ago that would have been unheard of, but now hip hop and porn are merging together. Sex sells. People are getting older and learning about themselves.
"Society has changed and just because you watch porno does not mean you are a pervert anymore. Hopefully, now everybody realizes sex is not a bad thing; people have sex all the time. Just make sure you have safe sex and don't catch anything."
Knoc-Turn'al's "The Way It Is" Record Release Party will be released simultaneously with his album on both VHS and DVD.
"The DVD is coming out when my album drops, on March 23, and it's gonna be a good thing," said the rapper. "It's not going to hurt my career."
Knoc-turn'al is currently on the Chicken & Beer Tour with Ludacris and Chingy.
