The latest player to enter the 2257 records-management game is Keyframe Multimedia. The company announced a system for Mac Classic, Mac OS X, and Windows platforms alike on June 14.
Spokesman Daniel Underhill the system is aimed toward small-to-medium webmasters and producers in need of simple solutions to keep the required model information for their websites and other content productions. Demonstration versions of the system, known as YTracker, are expected to be available by June 17, if not sooner, the company said.
"Just a few more tweaks" are necessary, Underhill says. "I was kind of leaving myself a little elbow room by saying Friday."
The program has been in the works for about two months. It's a branching-out step for the company’s usual business in CD-ROM programming and computer animation.
"We have several close friends and associates who are actively involved in the adult industry, building sites and creating content, and we have been following the new 2257 developments closely with them," Underhill says. "They began asking if it were possible for us to create a custom solution for them to help easily input, log, and store their model and website information."
The system was developed to run on both Mac and Windows because many producers edit imagery on Mac while using Windows computers for bookkeeping and other business tasks, Underhill explains.
"Developing a solution that worked on both sides just made sense to us," he says.
YTracker includes an external database file moveable from one to another platform seamlessly, with easily uploaded model information including digital ID and model releases. All information can be sorted and cross-referenced via “sort” tabs along the top of the user interface, and each record is printable as a preformatted form with all the relevant information.
Future features, Underhill says, will include saving model records out of the database in Adobe Acrobat .pdf files, direct scanning and uploading through the TWAIN interface, as well as cropping, scaling, and basic image editing within the Ytracker system on uploaded documents.
