Karrine Steffans Says She’ll Try to Stop Release of Vivid’s Superhead

One-time so-called “video girl,” Karrine Steffans, who claims to have slept with a number of hip hop artists like Usher and P Diddy, said today that she plans to sue Vivid to stop the release of hardcore video she made six years ago.

According to the New York Daily News, Steffans says she plans to file a motion to stop Vivid from releasing Superhead, claiming she should receive a piece of the movie’s profits, though she admitted she signed a release before performing a sex scene with Mr. Marcus.

The title is scheduled for release Thursday.

“That was six years ago when I was a coke whore. I was a single mom. I needed money. Vivid makes it look like it’s a new tape. They’re using my current picture and a book title without my permission,” she said.

“If anyone profits from the film, I want my cut, which I will donate to charity.”

But Vivid’s national sales manager Howard Levine said Steffans was paid for her work and is not entitled to any additional compensation.

“I feel bad that she’s upset, but she signed a legitimate release form that allows us to release this movie,” he said.

“We never said this was a new movie. We’ve informed everybody that this movie was shot six years ago with Mr. Marcus for Mr. Marcus’s Cool Spot which has been out of print a few years, but what we’re releasing now has new footage.”

Levine added that the photo on the box cover was bought and paid for legitimately.

In her 2005 book, “Confessions of a Video Vixen,” Steffans tells of a life marred by an absentee father and of being raped at 15, before turning to stripping and then being featured in a number of hip hop music videos made by R. Kelly, LL Cool J. and others.

She also tells of her sexual exploits where she sleeps with countless musicians, athletes and other celebrities, including Shaquille O’Neal, Ja Rule, Dr. Dre and others in order to pay her bills and live a rich lifestyle.
