Kandi Peach Productions, which had moved to New Orleans just days before Hurricane Katrina laid the city low, has temporarily relocated to Atlanta, Ga, reports owner Norman Sinclair.
“We are safe and we were able to save most of our computers and equipment, Sinclair said in an open letter to the industry.
“From what we understand, our area took on water but how much is unclear. Our home is about 1 to 2 feet above sea level, and our home is also on 3- to 4-foot piers. At the street level, it would have to flood about 6 to 8 feet before water would actually enter the home. We don't know when we will be allowed back home yet.”
Sinclair went on to say that because of a relationship the company has developed with an Atlanta fulfillment house, their video stock remains intact. That will allow them to continue shipping after the Labor Day weekend.
“New releases may be delayed,” said Sinclair, “because we left behind some equipment to make room in our car to help evacuate a young English couple. At that point, life was more important than replaceable equipment.”
Referring to Kandi, Sinclair said, “This is a very sad time for her as this was our first home purchase and we had to evacuate less than one month after moving in.”
The company has activated its affiliate program on its shopping cart and pays out 50 percent to all orders sent from affiliates.
“We’re not looking for handouts and we will pay companies that send traffic and help us sell our videos. We realize that we are very small part of the industry, very amateur, and our videos aren't for everyone but any help offered is greatly appreciated.”
