Popular gay community JustUsBoys will hold a party tonight in West Hollywood to celebrate the expansion of its magazine to a bimonthly publication.
The 21-and-over, no-cover event will be hosted by famed drag personality Jackie Beat and will feature DJ Scotty K on music, as well as appearances by several models from RandyBlue.
"This is a way for us to give back to our advertisers, who are the people that have helped us grow," JUB’s owner, Bryce Thomason, told AVNOnline.com. "It’s because of our advertisers that we were able to go from quarterly to bimonthly. We’re throwing this big party, and all their names are listed as sponsors. So, it’s our way of giving back and showing our advertisers that we really appreciate them helping us grow. Plus, it’s good fun."
The JustUsBoys magazine began in 2004 and since has become a staple of the company’s branding campaign. "You can see when each new issue of the magazine comes out, our traffic goes through the roof," Thomason claimed. "Since the magazine’s come out, we’re in the top 3,500 on Alexa. We’re one of the top 4,000 websites on the entire Internet. It just keeps us growing."
Of the magazine’s expansion, Thomason said, "It’s a big step for us. We’re going from four issues up to six. It’s exciting, because we’re [distributing] about 85,000 copies now—and by making that one little change, we’ll be able to reach about 170,000 extra people. They fly off the shelves, so being able to keep the magazine out there for four months is impossible. This will help us always keep our name and our advertisers’ names front and center for people."
The party will begin at 9 p.m. at Club 7969, 7969 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood.
