Juicy Entertainment gets off the ground this week under the direction of longtime industry veteran Marty Turkel.
Headquarters are on Independence Ave. in Chatsworth, and Turkel told AVN.com that phones should be up and running today. The email will be set up Monday.
As far as product goes, Turkel said the accent will be on “cutting edge” gonzo lines, not features. So far Juicy has made deals with three directors: Tyce Bune, Brittaney Starr and Skeeter Kerkove.
Juicy’s initial releases, in mid-April, will be the first volumes of Bune’s First Time Teens and I’ve Never Really Done That Before. They will be followed My First Porn Scene in Las Vegas, Vol. 7 and Party Bus Pussy Patrol, from Starr, the Las Vegas-based actress turned director.
The Juicy boxes will be foil-covered. “It seems to be that’s what moves in the stores, they’re eye-catching,” Turkel said. DVD sleeves will be reversible, with hard photos on one side, soft on the other, to accommodate the needs of individual stores.
The really big news is that Juicy is going on a talent search. “We’re running a contest,” Turkel said, “a fast contest because we want to announce the winners June 1st. We are looking for contract stars, a female and a male. The second place winners will also get to work in three or four scenes for Juicy.”
He added, “We need somebody that wants to do it, not has to do it. And we couldn’t care less if they’re professional or non-professional—we just want some hot new talent.”
