Juicy Entertainment President Marty Turkel is scheduled to return home after a two-month hospital stay that saw the veteran executive undergo four different procedures.
“I’m just glad Marty’s coming back home to his wife and family,” said Ed Kail, national sales manager for DVSX and a longtime friend of Turkel’s.
It was two months ago that Turkel discovered he had to have his gall bladder removed only to find out later that he had blockages on two major arteries, along with an irregular heartbeat which required a pacemaker, Kail said.
“He was in the hospital for two months and we really didn’t know if he was going to make it,” Kail added.
With one procedure followed by another, just weeks apart, Turkel’s condition worsened but ultimately stabilized long enough for doctors to complete surgery to remove the blockages and to install a pacemaker.
“His wife Lynn was in the hospital every day, and she had a business to run, but she stuck by him,” Kail explained.
But today, Turkel is doing well enough to go home, doctors say.
“It’s like what Al Michaels said: ‘Do you believe in miracles?’ and I say, I do.”
