MONTREAL, QC—Pure Taboo was founded by producer/director Bree Mills and her Gamma Films with the idea to create what's been termed "forbidden" erotic-themed features—and the company has just announced that award-winning adult superstar Joanna Angel has just signed on as its first guest director.
"When Joanna approached me about the idea of working together, I jumped at the chance to get her involved with Pure Taboo," said Mills.
Angel is set to write and direct the studio's next feature series about a very dysfunctional brother-and-sister relationship, with its focus on tense, dramatic scenarios, an interesting storyline and exceptional acting performances alongside the dynamically extreme, hardcore sex scenes.
"Joanna has always been a creative pioneer in our industry; a sexy, bold, intelligent filmmaker who challenges the status quo of what porn should—and should not—be," noted Mills. "I can't wait to see her take on Pure Taboo."
Mills and fellow Pure Taboo director Craven Moorehead will serve as producers, and Angel will work with them and the Pure Taboo crew on the three-episode series, which will feature six of the studio's signature twisted sex scenes. The as-yet-unnamed project will begin shooting in early November, with a projected early 2018 release date.
Angel, whose alt-por' studio and website BurningAngel.com broke ground on an entirely new genre of adult entertainment in 2002, said she's excited to have the unique opportunity to offer her dark perspective on the new wave of adult filmmaking that Pure Taboo is leading.
“I’m so excited to collaborate with Bree Mills on this project!” exclaimed Angel. “I stepped outside of my comfort zone and tapped into a very dark and twisted part of my brain to come up with the script for this one… I can’t wait to see how it unfolds!”
Angel's Pure Taboo guest directorial debut is set for release at PureTaboo.com, and on DVD and VOD. BurningAngel.com members will also be able to enjoy access to the feature series via a special promotional campaign.
