TopProTalent.com’s Marianne O’Hearn was almost prophetic when she suggested that “Young and the Curious” host Jason Sechrest have a backup guest-host ready in case JKP contract-performer Cynara Fox flaked on her scheduled May 16 appearance.
Sechrest did need to find a replacement for next Friday’s show, not because Fox flaked, but because Jill Kelly, president and COO of JKP, nixed Fox’s appearance as part of her new policy of not allowing her contract-performers to appear on KSEXradio. TopProTalent is owned by Wankus, though it is not affiliated with KSEXradio.
Jill Kelly Productions banned their performers from appearing on KSEXradio, a sex orientated Internet Radio show, in reaction to a number of statements from KSEXradio staff that JKP president and COO Jill Kelly claims are “slander.”
The new JKP policy was spawned due to a string of remarks made by KSEXradio Program Director, Wankus, that Kelly suggests are “slanderous,” as well as an article by O’Hearn titled “Flake and Bake,” which was about the signing of new JKP exclusive Cindy Crawford, who had been a no-show on the station. It was in “Flake and Bake” that O’Hearn suggested that Sechrest have a backup guest-host ready.
Wankus denied the claims of slander, claiming to have, "merely pointed out that many of the talent, under contract at JKP, have missed shows, ignored their commitment and never tried to make good on it."
"I've always believed that all publicity is good publicity," said Kelly in a statement made over the weekend explaining her new policy, "but enough is enough. This is porn. These girls have hectic lives and busy schedules that are subject to change. The times that our girls have not been able to honor their appearances on KSEX were not without reason; friends in the hospital, death of family members, that sort of thing. Tragedy has a tendency to put things in perspective and I'm sorry, but calling KSEX and letting them know may seem a little small and unimportant at times like those.”
“Unfortunately, being added as a JKP girl, and a supposed flake, one has to ask, what behavior techniques are in the employee handbook at that company,” wrote O’Hearn in her March 7 article. The article also claims that Alexis Amore', Haven, Star E. Knight and Jenna Haze have flaked on KSEXradio appearances in the past.
KSEXradio maintains a controversial “Porn Flake List” of adult talent that has flaked on scheduled appearances. None of the JKP contract performers are on the list, though KSEXradio does have a policy of removing talent from the list once they have appeared on the a KSEXradio show.
"In the case of Star E. Knight, and now new contract girl, Cindy Crawford, these performers hosted shows on KSEX and for whatever reasons, left their responsibilities as hosts, without notifying this company. After repeated calls from our office, dozens of emails and continual attempts, these performers were nowhere to be found," attests Wankus.
Crawford had been one of Wankus’ co-hosts for five weeks. KSEXradio claims that she was late for the program twice, and a no-show twice. Crawford says that she was late because of sets she was working on, and said the no-show’s were because of a death in her family.
“"Ya know what? That sucks. I'm sorry that she had a death in the family...but once again, someone could have called. There is no excuse to leave employers, fans, crew, anyone hanging, for any reason," Wankus told TopProtalent.com after learning about the death of Crawford’s Aunt.
“If they want to come after me and pick on me, that's fine. I never had a problem with that. But stay away from my girls or I will make sure that they stay away from you. We at JKP are pulling ourselves from all of the station's programming and we are taking our fans with us."
”Young and the Curious” host Sechrest, who is also the publicist for JKP, agreed with Jill Kelly’s decision.
“I love working with KSEX and I know how infuriating it can be to have a guest not show without notice, so I understand where they're coming from. Still, as JKP's publicist, with the statements being made from that station, I have to agree that it is no longer in the best interest of the girls to be a part of the station," he said.
