AVN president Paul Fishbein introduced porn star Jesse Jane to Howard Stern this morning and extended an invitation to the 2006 AVN Awards which Jane is hosting January 7.
The King of All Media was mightily impressed with the Digital Playground contract star — “You're really good looking,” he marveled — and spent most of the segment sparring with her.
He quizzed her about her relationships with rock stars and her recent marriage to adult performer Rick Patrick. “Every one of the porn stars I know ends up marrying a porn star,” he mused.
Jane said that marrying a colleague just made good sense. “I love the adult business, and I’m not going to stop, and a lot of guys couldn’t handle that.”
Stern seemed surprised to hear that Jane and Patrick had never worked together and didn’t intend to, but that both of them continue to appear with other on-screen partners. Privately, she said, “we have sex all the time and I love it.”
She wasted no time steering the conversation to her latest vehicle, the mega-hit Pirates, a Digital Playground-Adam & Eve co-production, and defended adult movies with story lines when Stern belittled them.
“As a consumer, as a guy who loves porn,” he said he didn’t give a hoot about the plot or the fact they had shot on the Pirates of the Caribbean ship, saying most guys would rather just watch her having sex.
Jane mentioned that she did appear in four of the movie’s eleven sex scenes, and Fishbein singled out her two girl-girl scenes — one with Carmen Luvana, one with Janine — as particularly incendiary.
Fishbein told Stern that nominations for “the Oscars of adult” would be announced on Wednesday.
Stern seemed eager to get back to Jesse Jane, expressing surprise when she told him she’d once turned down a millionaire’s offer of $200,000 for one night of love. “I’m not a hooker,” she pointed out.
He also wondered why she is not a millionaire like Jenna Jameson. Jane retorted that she was just at the beginning of her career and that she plans to reach that level someday soon.
She will be doing her first professional dancing gig in Los Angeles next month: at the City of Industry Spearmint Rhino December 9, followed by the Van Nuys Spearmint Rhino December 10.
The climax of the segment was a contest to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas and the AVN Awards — “a wild and crazy weekend in Las Vegas,” Fishbein called it. Four female contestants were introduced to Jack the Vomit Guy, who gets off having women barf on him. The first one to do so would get the prize.
“You may not leave the room, you’ve got to be here,” Stern told Jane and Fishbein as they headed for the door, but they made their escape just the same.
The 2006 AVN Awards, hosted by Jesse Jane, will be held January 7 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. For more information see www.avn.com/awards.
