Ron Jeremy will appear in the DVD versions of two upcoming major Hollywood films.
He wrote a three-page poem for The Aristocrats, a film that stars Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal and scores of other celebrated comedians. All of them give their own nasty slant on The Aristocrats in a new movie that was produced by Penn Jillette and Paul Provenza.
“I couldn’t be as funny as Robin Williams, but I wrote a big poem, having gotten my training from the [Fans of X-Rated Entertainment] Awards. Bill Margold has me write poems for that. So I wrote one for The Aristocrats and Penn Jilette and Paul Provenza loved it. But they didn’t use it in the feature film. It’s on the DVD. In the feature film as a courtesy they gave me a ‘very special thanks.’”
The Metro Studios contract stud added, “the good news is more people will see the DVD, which is coming out real soon. It’s exciting, but it’s sad that I missed out on the feature. It’s a good poem, real nasty. All these comics are playing the same joke. That’s what it’s all about. It’s nice to be in a film with all these major players.”
Jeremy said that he played a bail-jumping drug dealer in Domino, a film from New Line Cinema/Sony Pictures that will hit theaters on Oct. 14. His scene made it all the way until the final cut. But he has been informed it will be part of the deleted scenes on the DVD.
Domino, which was directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun, Black Hawk Down), is based on a true story of a lady bounty hunter played by British actress Keira Knightley. It also stars Lucy Liu, Jacqueline Bissette, Christopher Walken and Mickey Rourke, who helped Jeremy get the part just like he did for him in Spun.
In Jeremy’s scene, he gets caught with the dope, but “I deny the drugs are mine.” He later admits they are in fact his as he’s being arrested.
“It’s a funny scene,” he said, adding he gets tackled to the ground during it. “I had to do my own stunts. … What makes this kind of interesting is the company [Wolfman Productions] that books me in colleges around America and Canada on my debates was going to book Domino, the female bounty hunter. I spoke to her stepbrother about that. Wolfman Productions wanted her to tour colleges, but unfortunately she passed away recently and won’t even get to see the film open that’s about her life. I possibly might have toured with her.”
Jeremy said that he would also be thanked during the end credits of the theatrical version of Domino, which is at least some consolation.
“That one hurt,” he admitted. “It’s a speaking cameo but I’m resigned to the DVD. New Line and Sony said that it had nothing to do with me being Ron Jeremy. It wasn’t a porn slice. The producers emphasized that.”
Jeremy has coined the term “porn slice” for when he is removed from a movie just because he's a porn star. For instance, he role in Ronan was a “porn slice.” The same happened with Reindeer Games. But at least he still got into the credits on both films – as Ron Hiatt and Ron Hyatt, respectively.
“So 100 years from now I’ll still be in the credits, which is nice,” he admitted.
Perhaps the reigning king of deleted scenes, Jeremy is also in one for the DVD of Paulie Shore is Dead, which is now in stores and includes cameos from celebrities like Britney Spears, Eminem and Vince Vaughn.
“They actually changed the ending to that one and I totally understood,” Jeremy said.
The world famous star also appears in a deleted scene on the DVD of Confidence, a Lion’s Gate film that stars Dustin Hoffman.
“I’m in a funny scene with Dustin Hoffman where he inspects the boobies of an attractive girl. There is me and couple of bodyguards in the background. You don’t hear me speak. That was cut, but you do see me crystal clear in the back. I’m supposed to be the owner of the bar.”
Jeremy concluded, “Thank God for DVD. In the old days, when the film made it to video, that was the end of it. Now with DVD, people started inserting the extra scenes. ... I’ve been in so many editing flaws, I feel like sperm.”
