HOLLYWOOD—AVN Award-winning performer Jade Venus has been cast in a leading role in the soon-to-shoot motion picture Adam & Evie.
The movie "revolves around a disabled man falling in love with a transgender woman, learning to accept affection and standing up for the things he cares about in a life-affirming, Shakespearean-style love story for the modern era," a spokesperson explained.
In order to fund the indie project and submit it on the festival circuit, producers are opening an Indiegogo campaign today.
Starring opposite Venus in the picture will be writer and director Jesse Heisel, and the supporting cast include Mel Helfin, Tonya Kay, Casey Hartnett, Robert Kemp, Jessica Murillo Kemp and Heather Harlow. Award-winning producers Rob Margolies, Elinor Keyes and Stephanie Hancock are bringing the movie to fruition.
The Indiegogo campaign is looking to raise a starting budget of $150,000 to hire talent, and would like to raise an additional $50,000 for marketing and festival submissions. There are many perks offered that start at $5 and go up to $20,000, including posters, an invitation to the premiere, a copy of the script, and various producer credits at different levels. “I remember when Jesse came to me with the project, and I knew this story must be told," Venus said. "It’s a beautiful love story that shows the underdog winning and getting the love they truly deserve. I’m very excited to be working on my first mainstream project and am honored that Jesse cast me as Evie. Many of my fans have had a mere glimpse of my acting in my scenes, but they’ve never seen me quite like this. Make sure to become a backer of the Indiegogo campaign. Every dollar counts, so give as much as you can and tell your friends!”
Production on Adam & Evie is set to start in November.
