Jack Lawrence: 'I Saved A Life'

Adult performer Jack Lawrence fulfilled his duty as a good Samaritan following a traffic accident he witnessed yesterday.

"I actually saved a guy's life," Lawrence told AVN.com.

Lawrence sketched the details of his adventure. "I was driving and I witnessed a fender bender," he said. "Of course, I'm going to rubberneck like everybody else. I saw a blur and realized it was two guys on the ground fighting."

Lawrence thought at first that the dust-up was just "two kids" fighting. "But then I saw a silver flash and realized that one of the guys had an aluminum baseball bat. He was swinging it and was trying to kill the other guy."

Assessing the situation, Lawrence decided to get involved. "I started honking my horn, trying to get their attention," he said. Apparently, this did little to distract the assailant.

Lawrence then inserted himself into the situation. "I got out of my car and went into 'cop mode' and started saying, 'Drop the bat! Drop the bat!'"

That got the combatants' attention, and, as Lawrence related, "They both got up. The dude with the baseball bat realized I was unarmed and gave me a posture like he was going to knock my head into left field. I used some quick thinking and pointed behind him and said, 'Look out!' so he'd think a car was coming. As he was looking to see what I was pointing at, I bum rushed him and drove my shoulder into his chest, knocked him to the ground and got the bat. I ran back to my car and locked the bat in there."

But the donnybrook didn't end. Lawrence explained, "They went back to fighting, so I pulled them apart and told the guy, 'You sit on this curb! Cross your ankles!' Since I was wearing a suit minus the coat, I think they thought I was a detective."

Lawrence then went back to his car to call 911, and that's when the assailant started to leave the scene. "I told him, 'Dude, you're not leaving,'" said Lawrence. But the man replied he was just moving his car. It was then that Lawrence and the assailant started wrestling with Lawrence attempting to grab the man's car keys.

Lawrence then noticed a license plate lying on the ground as a result of the accident. "I realized I should let the guy go-- especially if he could have had a gun in his car -- and, besides, I had the license plate."

The assailant then left the scene, but as Lawrence noted, "That's when the victim said, 'Hey, that's  my license plate.'

Lawrence summed up the story, "The guy got away, but the police credited me with saving the victim's life. The insurance company called me later on and, on behalf of the victim said, "We'd like to thank you for saving his life."

In retrospect, Lawrence said of the incident, "It was a crazy day!"

He added, "The only reason I got involved is I thought to myself really quickly, if that was me on my back with someone trying to kill me, I would hope that someone would try to help me."
