The Old Bridge Ranch Bordello in Storey County, Nevada, just east of Reno, has been closed by county authorities since June 2. But the owner isn't taking it lying down.\n David Burgess filed suit in federal court, claiming there has been a violation of his rights to free association. The Storey County Commission and Sheriff Bob Del Carlo revoked his license after members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang were seen at the Old Bridge Ranch. The commission and sheriff said the gang posed a danger to the community.\n Burgess' lawyer argued in federal court that there has been no indication of any criminal activity and that the brothel owner has the right to associate with whomever he wants. Further, he said, Burgess has no criminal record and has held the license for 10 years.\n The county said it has a right to govern who may patronize brothels and who may associate with owners. "You can't be a licensee and associate with those people in Storey County," said Brent Kolvet, a lawyer for the county. Because of the nature of the brother business, the county has a right to make sure it is operated appropriately, he said.
