Internext Summer left Florida’s golden shores Sunday, Aug. 7. By noon at Hollywood, Fla.’s luxurious Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, exhibitors were busy closing up their booths and heading home. But, the last few hours of the show were crucial elements as attendees forged new business relationships and exhibitors sealed deals.
“Internext was a great event held within a beautiful setting. There was a tremendous amount of business to be done, and we are extremely happy with the outcome,” says Mitch Farber, president of Netbilling.com, whose company sponsored the two-day Porn Poker Tournament throughout the show. “Internext went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. The parties, networking events, and seminars were not to be missed and I’m sure everyone left there with a feeling of accomplishment. I know the Netbilling staff who attended was sad to see it end, and we look forward to the next one.”
After a heavy schedule of celebratory parties the evening before, attendees loafed and lounged, taking advantage of the resort’s many amenities, including golf, massage, steam and sauna rooms, lagoon-style pools, and waterfalls.
The event was a three-day extravaganza of business mixed with pleasure—and attendees took advantage of every element.
“It was great to finally put a face to name here at the show,” says CommerceGate.com’s sales manager Lucas Janokowiak, who took time to walk along the beach during the show. Janokowiak also says he would like to have seen the event move a bit quicker.
Still, most attendees and exhibitors relished the easy pace of the show, including MakingCoin.com President Craig Turley, who enjoyed a variety of show parties. “I had so much fun during this show,” says Turley, who got some much-needed rest in his suite.
“The show was great for us,” says AdultFriendFinder.com’s senior online media buyer, Sarah Prescott. “We have a number of new features and upgrades planned for our sites that are sure to benefit affiliates. Attending the show gave us the chance to meet with affiliates and find out what they needed.”
Many exhibitors took advantage of the opportunity to use the show as a networking platform.
“This was an excellent networking event,” says Don Lyons, account executive for domain assessment management company Moniker.com.
And the show wrapped with a number of prizes award to attendees. Winners for the Internext Summer’s floor show drawing included: Bryan Havoc from AmateurPartner.com ($100 American Express gift certificate); Scott, aka Sxox, from Hundies.com (Video iPod); and grand prize winner Marc Laffer from AdultChamber.com, who won two passes to the January 2007 Internext Las Vegas event.
