This is the cover story of the December issue of AVN magazine.
LOS ANGELES—Lexi Luna did something she’s never done before in what so far is the biggest movie role of her career.
“I cried on command for the first time in my life in Breadcrumbs,” Luna says. “And it was just like… It felt very like home.”
The former elementary school teacher from Indianapolis—also known as “The Gentleman’s Porn Star”—demonstrated a range of dramatic chops in the role of Charlotte, a wife and mother longing for something more in her marriage.
It marked the first lead in a feature for Luna, who in the past nine years has become one of adult entertainment’s most engaging stars.
For her efforts, Luna earned her first-ever nomination for Best Leading Actress at the 2026 AVN Awards on January 24 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
She will also enter the 43rd annual ceremony with nominations for Best Foursome/Orgy Scene for Let Me In Too and MILF Performer of the Year.
In what in many ways was a banner year for Luna—who was named an Adult Time brand ambassador in January 2024—she also joined the casts of two more of the studio’s most acclaimed projects from 2025: Pure Taboo’s Let Me in Too and Escape From Camp Conversion from the Girlcore label.
That’s not to mention making more than a dozen other appearances for various Adult Time labels, including Girlsway, MommysBoy, MommysGirl, AllGirlMassage and Fantasy Massage—and representing the studio at the Venus Show in October in Berlin.
“It feels good to finally be at this point,” Luna, who has more than 530 performing credits, tells AVN. “When I started in 2016, it was kind of like, what is this even going to be? I’m sure that’s how it is for a lot of people and they don’t really realize what it takes and what all of this looks like on a day-to-day basis. So I’m very fortunate to be able to continue still to this day, almost a decade later, being able to do what I actually really love to do.”
Lexi adds, “It feels good to be recognized. People always say this around awards season, right? They’re like, awards don’t pay the bills. Yes, but it is really nice to be recognized amongst your peers and to be seen as somebody who’s doing valuable work.”

Luna rose to the occasion in Breadcrumbs—a Wicked Pictures production directed by Bree Mills—opposite one of the industry’s most decorated actors, Seth Gamble, who received a nomination for Best Leading Actor for playing her troubled husband, Max.
“I’m working with Seth, who’s excellent and I was learning so much just watching him work and being the co-talent,” Luna says. “I really started to align myself with the people who make those things happen, who make features happen, who want to find somebody who wants to do things the way I want to do things. So it felt very like I’m finally being recognized and seen for the star power that I have.”
Gamble, a four-time AVN Best Leading Actor winner and the 2023 AVN Male Performer of the Year, tells AVN that Luna “is the consummate professional.”
“She really built herself up with her name and who she is,” says Gamble, who has performed with Luna in eight different movies. “I met her in her first year in the business at a Nightmoves Awards Show in 2016.
“She’s one of those people who commits to any role she does and she really puts her all into it. … I don’t have anything but glowing things to say about Lexi. She’s a bonafide, self-made superstar.
“And something I admire from her is she built herself up in such a unique way. She sticks to her guns and that inspires me to follow suit. I really believe she is one of the best in the industry to do this and I’m grateful I got to be a part of this with her.”
Looking effortlessly pretty in a grey hooded sweater and black jeans on a 70-degree Tuesday afternoon in November, Luna has ordered a cheeseburger at an upscale eatery in the Culver City area of L.A. Now a resident of Las Vegas, Luna came in for a round of shoots and to attend the annual Gamma Films/Adult Time awards season gala later this week.
As she reflects on what Charlotte was going through in Breadcrumbs, she begins tearing up—the role was rewarding on multiple levels and just having the opportunity to bring the character to life was special, Lexi tells me.
“I’m also a very emotional person—I just need to have that directed towards something,” Luna says. “So it’s really just Bree’s craft of putting people in the right position for them to shine and do the work.”

Mills, the seasoned filmmaker who is the chief creative officer of Adult Time, also wrote the screenplay for Breadcrumbs, exploring themes of emotional and digital disconnection, communication and how the challenges of modern-day parenting can affect intimacy.
“Breadcrumbs was Lexi’s first lead role in a feature, which is wild considering her decade of success in the industry, and I’m so grateful we got to share that milestone,” Mills tells AVN.
“The story is personal, so being able to dive deep into the character with her meant a lot to me.
“That climactic confession she cried through—her first time doing it on command—was so sincere and emotionally grounded. I’ll never forget it.
“Helping actors fully lose themselves in their characters is one of my favorite parts of directing, and she was phenomenal stepping into her first lead.”
Luna, who has “the strictest limits of anybody” in the business, says becoming an Adult Time brand ambassador was a defining moment in her industry journey.
“I felt like finally somebody sees me,” Lexi tells me. “Because the worst thing is constantly chasing the roles that you’re never getting. And that’s what was happening to me for a while.”
Mills explains that Luna “feels like an extension of our internal team.”
”I absolutely loved working with Lexi this year,” Bree continues. “She brought such a strong mix of talent, enthusiasm and professionalism to every role, and she was always eager for a challenge.
“My favorite example was casting her as the villain in Escape From Camp Conversion—a total anti-type for her. Because she’s so often sweet, maternal and nurturing on screen, it felt exciting to push her in the complete opposite direction. And she was so down for it. Watching her completely transform for that role was honestly one of the highlights of my year as a director.”

Luna taught kindergarten through fourth grade for more than five years in Indiana and Florida prior to adult. Armed with a degree in elementary education, she took the job seriously but realized it was unfulfilling.
“I didn’t feel like I was getting feedback that was helpful or constructive,” Luna says. “I was just doing the same thing every year and feeling more and more lost, drowning in the sea of work that is teaching.”
She taught in both charter and public schools, working with all socioeconomic levels.
“I gave it a really good chance,” Luna adds. “And at the end of the day, it just wasn’t making me happy.”
While living and teaching in the Orlando area, Luna decided to join FetLife with the desire to meet new friends outside of work. FetLife is billed as “the most popular social network for the BDSM, fetish and kink community.”
“So you find your region and then you get together with people in real life and you talk about fetish and kink and maybe you play and maybe you don’t or maybe you’re just meeting at a Starbucks and talking to like-minded people,” Luna recalls. “And so that’s kind of what I was looking for when I moved to Florida—because now I’m 25 and I have to make friends as an adult for the first time in my life.”
She credits The Woodshed, a private membership club dedicated to building community for alternative lifestyles, with teaching her how to play with discretion.
“I just learned so much from that place, and I’m so thankful for The Woodshed in Orlando because it really taught me how to play safely, sanely and consensually. Those are like the three hallmarks of kink play. And I got to the point where I was like, this is empowering, I feel very good doing this. … And I think that’s what I’ve kind of carried into this career as well. Being able to feel like I’m very confident in that exploration of sex.”

While on FetLife, Lexi was headhunted by L.A. Direct Models; she had some discussions but didn’t end up signing, starting out with another agency. Eventually, she gained her footing with East Coast Talent—her second agency—doing many of her early scenes in Fort Lauderdale in the late spring and early summer of 2016.
“And it was difficult to get booked at first because I had a super young face and I had a MILF body,” Lexi says. “And so they were like, well, you’re not a teen, but you’re not a MILF. And we don’t really know what to do with you. So for three years, I really didn’t do a lot.”
Then came July 2019—which Luna refers to as “Julexi.”
“I worked I think like 28 out of 31 days or something like that,” she recalls. “It was an insane month. But also I knew that that’s what it took in that moment.
“Like I have to do it all and take any work that I can get because that’s how you get spread out and find new fans and all these companies are promoting you. People are always like, you guys don’t get paid enough. I’m like, well, I don’t really know how much it costs to get a million-plus eyes on me at once when Brazzers post a scene and then posts on their Instagram. I don’t know what the cost of that is, but that feels very valuable to me when it’s not just about the rate I’m getting. It’s also about the exposure and the promotion.
“And I figured that out pretty early on.”
When COVID hit the following spring, Luna had scenes in the bank—lots of them.
“I had probably a scene release every week for a year in 2020,” Lexi says. “And that’s really where my star took off. And I catapulted in the ranks and that’s when I started to feel like I’m on the right track.”

And Luna has never looked back—her track record for driving traffic is evident when considering she now holds down a regular spot in the Top 20 Most Popular Porn Stars on Pornhub. At press time she was ranked No. 13 in the world with 652 million video views and 557,000-plus subscribers on the mega-site.
“Lexi Luna’s years of popularity on Pornhub are a testament to her professionalism and experience in the industry,” says Alex Kekesi, VP, brand and community, Pornhub. “As a former educator she brings a unique perspective to her content that resonates with her many fans. Her standout performances in the MILF genre, one of the most popular categories on Pornhub, always showcase her acting skills and authenticity. Visually, Lexi strikes a balance between the ‘girl-next-door’ charm and the ‘fantasy teacher’ allure, tapping into popular fantasies and showcasing her versatility.
“She works with major professional studios while also producing her own high-quality content. Her consistency and personal engagement with her audience are also at the core of her continued success.”

Indeed, Luna takes pride in the way she stays connected with her global fanbase—in addition to OnlyFans, she also keeps in touch with them on video chat platforms such as Mynx and SextPanther. When she isn’t working, Luna likes gardening, building jigsaw puzzles and constructing miniature house models that she later destroys.
“I get a kit from Amazon and I build it all up,” she says. “You upholster the furniture, you do all this stuff, and then at the end of it, you smash it with a mallet and it goes flying everywhere and it’s just such a fun release.”
Luna even smashed a house for her VR Bangers Girl of the Month spotlight in September.
She tells me branding herself as the “Gentleman’s Porn Star” came about because “I think it’s my personal fantasy.”
“I love a well-dressed man,” Lexi says. “I love the gentleman aspect. When I hold my fans to a higher standard by calling them gentlemen— as the Gentleman’s Porn Star—they respond. As a leader in both the industry and in my personal life, I’m always going to show that respect first.”
Luna tells AVN what she’s most proud of is “that I’ve stayed true to myself.”
“Everybody’s always like, what’s the next thing for you? And I’m like, this. More of this,” Luna says. “There doesn’t need to be a next thing. I’m very happy with where we are.”
