Pipedream Products, Doc Johnson, and Screaming O were among the winners of Women's Health magazine's inaugural Sex Awards.
After anonymously testing products in-house, the magazine honored "the sauciest, silliest and most satisfying products in the sexual universe"—as seen in the March 2007 Sex Awards issue. Award categories include Liquid Love, Sexessories, Get in the Game, Burning Books, and Feel the Vibe.
In the Liquid Love category, Moist, a lubricant manufactured by adult toy and novelty producer Pipedream Products, was named "Best for Natural Wetness" beating "out every other water-based lubricant we tried for long-lasting slipperiness," according to the magazine.
Pipedream Chief Operating Officer Nick Orlandino responded to the news by declaring, "I am truly excited about this recognition, as I originally developed this product for use in my personal life."
Screaming O ("Best Ring") was praised in the Feel the Vibe category as the "best thing to happen to sex since Dr. Ruth," as was Doc Johnson—which received accolades for its Lucid Dreams No. 14, ("Best Maxi-Vibe").
According to the magazine's anonymous tester, "Lucid Dreams No. 14 is top gun. The tilted motorized tip hits the G-spot like nobody's business."
"It's always an honor to get mainstream recognition for one of our novelties," states Chad Braverman, Doc Johnson's director of product development and licensing. "Our Lucid Dreams line is very popular, and No. 14 is the best seller of the collection. The Women's Health piece will hopefully turn more women on to a really great product."
Other honorable mentions include RUFF Doggie Styles, which won the "Best for Love Tapping" award for its Kitty Spank Her Paddle in the Sexxessories category; Dr. Ava Cadell, who won an award for her Tantric Lover's Game; and sex therapist Laura Berman, who won the "Best Self-Help" award for The Passion Prescription, a book that promises better sex in 10 weeks.
Women's Health, a sister publication to Men's Health, is a leading consumer-health and lifestyle magazine with a circulation of 450,000 and is published by Rodale.
