Digital Playground has announced it has filled its first-run order for Pirates, its mega co-production with Adam & Eve that made its lavish Hollywood premiere last Monday at the famed Egyptian Theatre.
Digital Playground said that it purposedly coincided the ship date on Monday with national “Talk Like a Pirate Day."
Pirates, which has drawn mainstream attention from several news outlets including Variety, is fueled by an A-list cast headlined by Jesse Jane, Janine, Carmen Luvana, Austyn Moore, Devon, Teagan Presley, Jenaveve Jolie, Evan Stone and Tommy Gunn. Joone directed the title using the latest in HD technology, CGI special effects and animation.
Digital Playground President Samantha Lewis remarked, “Our out-the-door numbers have already surpassed our projections for the entire first month. Now that we have DVDs shipping, our marketing efforts can really manifest. Pirates is the best investment we’ve ever made. Thank you Joone!”
Mike Barry, director of adult operations at Adult DVD Empire, said, “In a year that is producing a record number of big-budget, high quality adult movie releases, Pirates is leading the pack. Pirates is outselling the next highest pre-book title by almost 2 to 1, proving again that adult movie customers do indeed appreciate a quality product.”
The movie is the No. 1 pre-ordered title of all time for the Web retail superstore and it already ranks in the top five on Adult DVD Empire’s current bestsellers’ list.
